Q. Why are you running for Whitchurch-Stouffville Town Council?
A. I am running for Ward 3 Councillor because I believe my experience in business, leadership and community service can make a meaningful contribution to the town I am proud to call home.
Throughout the last four decades, my career has involved building and operating businesses, leading organizations, managing budgets, bringing people together and finding practical solutions to challenges. I currently serve on the Board of Directors of "Ontario Parks" and on the international Board of Directors for the "Commonwealth Fashion Council", and I have also spent part of my career teaching at Ontario colleges.
Stouffville is growing and changing, and the decisions Council makes today will shape our community for many years. I want to bring proven leadership, sound judgment and practical problem-solving to those decisions while ensuring Ward 3 residents have a Councillor who listens, is accessible and represents their interests at Town Hall.
Q. A brief outline of your platform and what you feel strongly about.
A. My platform is centred on responsible growth and protecting the quality of life that makes Stouffville such a wonderful place to call home.
I am particularly focused on three areas: Traffic & Transportation, Parks & Recreation, and Seniors & Youth.
As Stouffville grows, our roads, traffic management and transportation options need to keep pace. Growth should be thoughtfully planned alongside the infrastructure and services needed to support it.
I also believe strongly in protecting and improving our parks, trails, recreational spaces and community amenities. These are not simply nice things to have; they are part of what creates healthy neighbourhoods and brings people together.
Finally, I want Stouffville to remain a community where people can build a life at every stage, where young families can put down roots, children and youth have opportunities to participate and belong, and seniors can remain active, connected and independent.
Underlying all of these priorities is a commitment to responsible decision-making and respect for taxpayers. Residents should be able to see value in the services they receive and have confidence that their tax dollars are being managed carefully.
Q. If you are elected, what would be your top priority for the community, and why is that the most important issue to address in the coming term?
A. My top priority would be managing growth while protecting Stouffville's quality of life.
Growth affects almost every major issue facing our town, traffic and congestion, infrastructure, housing, parks and recreation, municipal services and the pressures placed on taxpayers.
The question is not simply whether Stouffville grows, but how we grow.
I support responsible development that provides a balanced mix of housing for young families, seniors and first-time buyers, while ensuring infrastructure and community services keep pace. At the same time, we need to preserve the neighbourhood character, green spaces and sense of community that attracted so many of us to Stouffville in the first place.
For me, good municipal government comes down to listening carefully, planning responsibly and making practical decisions that serve residents today without losing sight of what Stouffville should look like ten, twenty and fifty years from now.

Q: Why are you running for or seeking re-election to Whitchurch-Stouffville Town council?
A: I am running for Stouffville Town Council because Ward 3 deserves strong, local representation. As the only candidate who lives in Ward 3, I understand the day-to-day concerns of our neighbourhoods and am personally invested in the decisions that shape our community.
Stouffville is growing, and we need responsible planning that protects what residents value while ensuring our town remains a place where people can build a future.
Q: Briefly outline your platform and what you feel strongly about.
A: My Platform
My platform focuses on making Stouffville a community where people of every generation can live, belong, and thrive.
I will advocate for:
Housing choices that help seniors downsize locally and allow young families to remain in or move to Stouffville.
Safe, accessible spaces, recreation, and opportunities for youth.
Responsible development that is supported by the infrastructure, parks, services, and community facilities residents need.
A councillor who is accessible, listens to residents, and responds. I will respond to all resident emails and phone calls within 24 hours.
Q: If you are elected, what would be your top priority for the community, and why is that the most important issue to address in the coming term?
A: My top priority will be keeping Stouffville affordable, livable, and connected for every generation.
Affordability affects seniors who want to remain close to family and friends, young families trying to establish roots, and young people who hope to make Stouffville their long-term home. I will support responsible growth, a greater range of housing options, and meaningful investment in youth spaces, parks, recreation, and community services.
My goal is to help ensure Stouffville remains a place where seniors can stay, families can grow, youth can belong, and future generations can call home.

Q: Why are you running for or seeking re-election to Whitchurch-Stouffville Town council?
A: My grandparents and parent were from Stouffville, I was born and raised here, my children were raised here, and now my grandchildren are being raised here. This community has always been home.
Stouffville gave me so much. It provided me with the foundation, opportunities and support I needed to pursue the careers I have had, and for that I will always be grateful. Now I believe it is my turn to give back to the community that has given so much to me.
After completing my first term on Council, I believe it would a shame not to continue this journey. I learned a tremendous amount during my first term, and that experience has given me a deeper understanding of our community, the responsibilities of Council and the challenges we face.
I know that moving forward, experience will have tremendous value. If given the opportunity to serve another term, I will bring that experience to the table and continue to make decisions with honesty, integrity and a strong commitment to the future of our community.
Stouffville has been a part of my life for generations, and I am proud to have the opportunity to give back to the community I have always called home!
Q: Briefly outline your platform and what you feel strongly about.
A: 1) A strong voice for Ward 3 from a councillor who listens first
2) Keeping Stouffville the safe community it has always been
3) Controlled development that delivers the roads, water and services to with it
4) More commercial and industrial business to help alleviate the tax burden of residents and provide work where you live.
5) Transparent governance and straight answers residents can count on.
6) Strong leadership that unites our team at Town Hall
Q: If you are elected, what would be your top priority for the community, and why is that the most important issue to address in the coming term?
A: Managing growth responsibly.
One of the most important issues facing our town is managing growth in a way that keeps pace with our infrastructure, facilities, and the need to maintain a healthy balance in our tax base.
Right now, out tax base is not in a healthy position. Residents are carrying approximately 93% of the total tax burden, while only 7% comes from industrial and commercial businesses. A healthier balance would be closer to 75% residential and 25% industrial and commercial.
Fast tracking more housing without putting an equal focus on attracting and growing businesses could move us in the wrong direction. If we continue down that path, residents could end up paying more while having fewer opportunities and greater demands placed on our facilities and infrastructure.
I will have many priorities for Ward 3 and our town, but responsible growth, strengthening our commercial and industrial tax base, and making sure our infrastructure and facilities keep pace will be a top priority for me.
